Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all my friends in Ireland and all those who celebrate the day. Hope your beer was green and your day was filled with fun and family. Sláinte!
Spent the afternoon at Lavender Fields, a venue where performers donate their time and tips to Feed a Smile to buy meals for children in Kenya.
First up was Brian Narstrom “Sl musician….. well “musician” might be a stretch…. Let’s say campfire hack….. Mostly older stuff like James Taylor, always learning newer songs to mix in.” For a campfire hack Brian does very well and plays an awesome guitar. Great covers, hope to hear Brian again soon. No upcoming show scheduled for Brian at this time.
Second on stage was Jon Bazar ” He says “music soothes like medicine, I use it to cope and survive.” He is open to all music but his passion lies in the acoustic sound.” It’s always one hour of awesomeness when Jon plays. Covers done the Bazar way with the odd original thrown in when he can be coaxed to play one. Jon has over 300 covers in his growing list, he’s sure to know one of your favorites. Come check Jon out 18/03 2pm slt at Surfside Hideaway.
Following Jon was Jo Pil (joann.diavolo) “I am singing a combination of original material and putting my own spin on popular covers. Truely live! no backing tracks! only voice and guitar :)” Excellent singer and guitarist along with her mouth trumpet, gives an hour of wonderful folk, blues and rock. Join Jo at Guthries 18/03 8am slt.
Last of the four hour show was Mance Moonwall “Hi, I’m a musician (Tom Buechi in RL) playing Blues, Classic Rock, Southern Rock and Country. Both originals and personalized versions of other folks songs.” My first time hearing Mance and defintely not my last. Fantastic performer who easily holds your attention and leaves you wanting more. Could not find a upcoming show for Mance at this time.
Today was the last day for the Fashion for Life. I hope everyone had a chance to see the amazing builds and shop. There was definitely some great items to be bought there and for such a worthy cause. Isn’t it awesome how people pull together in SL 🙂
Today was the start of the SL Buddy Walk Event. Last night I had a chance to tour the sim and see all the stores and carts involved in the fair. Wow what an amazing build it is and the stores participating have really nice things for sale. Each store has special items that give all or part of the profits to NDSS (National Down Syndrome Society). Instead of repeating myself please read a previous blog I posted with more details about this event. My picture above was taken at the Buddy Walk sim. Very beautiful well designed area that you really should go take a look at and don’t forget to take a peek in the stores. That one dress or top, pose or piece of furniture you’ve been looking for might be there and you will be supporting a good cause if you buy it there. Here is your Taxi.
Charmed Breedable Fashions held it’s Launch Party for their Relay for Life sneaker. The LIMITED EDITION 2013, CBF, RFL MAX SNEAKER. Collect all three! Drop by the CBF sim and get yourself a pair of these great sneakers and do your bit for Cancer Research. I’d love to be able to travel around the grid and see these sneakers on avi’s and know that those research Lindens are pouring in and helping to make a difference. You can buy these awesome sneakers here.
